Welcome to the Source “Helping Providers Serve the Whole Child” web site. Mendocino County Office of Education is the after school technical assistance lead for Region 1 serving the five counties in the North Coastal area. The Source works to ensure that after school educators in Region 1 implement high-quality programs that include academics, enrichment, and recreation based on a youth development perspective. The Source provides technical assistance and collaborates with state or federally funded after school programs.
The Regional Lead relies on the expertise of an Advisory Committee which includes after school leaders from each county. With their guidance and input the Region 1 Work Plan is developed and submitted to California Department of Education annually. The committee meets monthly via phone conference to discuss the progress on the Work Plan. To find out who your county representative is click on the Contacts tab above.
Regional Leads work to ensure that governmental, educational and community organizations are aware of the importance of and effectively support afterschool initiatives - including capacity building of funded schools to meet statutory requirements. The goal is to help children and youth succeed in school and become capable, well-balanced citizens.
All families have access to high quality after school programs where every child matters.
