Each County Office of Education has a Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) department which provides leadership, support and technical assistance to school districts by sponsoring professional development opportunities for teachers and administrators. The California Department of Education After School Programs has encouraged after school leaders to foster the relationship between their providers and C&I staff to include them in relevant trainings alongside the regular day school staff.
