Full Service Community Schools (FSCS) is on the lips of many people –politicians, private funders, program directors. When looked at closely FSCS looks very much like Healthy Start with the added emphasis on classroom curricula. The pendulum may be swinging back to emphasis on the whole child. Now is the time to stay up-to-date on this new movement. For those of you interested in the new federal funding for Full Service Community Schools see the information below from USDOE. They have posted a transcript of the FSCS Pre-Application meeting and meeting handouts on http://www.ed.gov/programs/communityschools/index.html>.
Once at the site, click on Applicant Information and scroll down to the bottom of the page.
The USDOE is looking for grant reviewers for FSCS grants. For more information see attachments.
